Rules for earlobe piercing
- No appointment is needed for piercing.
- If the individual is under 18 years of age, parental consent is required. If a parent or guardian is not present, written consent is required.
- Minimum age 4 years.
- It is not permitted to pierce an individual under the influence of intoxicants.
- The earrings placed in the earlobes come in sterilised packaging from the manufacturer and do not contain allergens such as nickel or other compounds thereof.
- Only earlobes are pierced, not cartilage.
Guidelines for aftercare following earlobe piercing
- The earrings should be kept in the ears for approx. 8 weeks, but of course they may be kept in longer – the longer the better. You should also always have some earrings in the piercings for the first year. It is best to use genuine metals (silver, gold or steel) rather than metal alloys.
- It is recommended to disinfect around the piercing 1-2 times a day for approx. one month.
- Do not remove the earrings while cleaning.
- We recommend rubbing alcohol for disinfecting
- Dip a cotton bud in the rubbing alcohol or moisten cotton wool and apply thoroughly to the earlobe, both front and back, with the earrings in. Make sure the rubbing alcohol reaches the piercings themselves.
- Do not turn the earrings at all and do not touch them unnecessarily.
- We do not recommend swimming for the next 2-3 days, but showers and baths are of course fine.
- If an infection occurs, dirt has got into the piercing/wound and it should therefore be cleaned very thoroughly. In severe cases of infection, it is recommended to apply Fucidin to the area, which is available on prescription from your nearest pharmacy. In rare cases, the earrings need to be removed and the piercings allowed to heal.
